SASO inspires and mobilizes

boys and their mothers

to provide service and leadership that positively impacts the local communities.

Membership drive is closed for the 2025-26 SASO year.

Thank you to everyone who renewed and joined!

Look for a 'welcome email' with instructions on how to invite your son(s) to create their own accounts. Once you have submitted a paid application and have a login, you and your son will be able to view and signup for opportunities starting on 6/1 (not before).

If you have an interest in joining the board, please get in touch. We would love to welcome new members/freshmen moms into roles. Please consider joining!

Still need to purchase a lanyard? Complete this form to order. We ask that each mother and son wear a lanyard when volunteering so philanthropies know we are there!

Top 10 SASO things to know:

  1. SASO year starts 6/1 and ends 5/31 of following year. Access to membership application begins 5/1.
  2. Download the membership toolkit app from the app store.
  3. Volunteers should wear SASO lanyards to all events. (Lanyards are purchased through the membership application process.)
  4. PVSA applications will be accepted from 6/1-9/30. Please check the PVSA tab for more information.
  5. Check website/app for new events often! Please read our email updates too.
  6. PLEASE do your best to sign up for events that you are committing to attending. Our philanthropies rely on us for help, and last-minute cancellations leave everyone scrambling. If something unexpected (like an illness) comes up, please try to find a replacement. If you are unable to find someone, and you can't make the event, email the SASO contact, giving as much notice as possible. Also copy sasoboysmembership@gmail.com.
  7. After completing an event, sons need to record their hours. Mothers don't need to record hours.
  8. Mothers and sons must participate together in 3 SASO sponsored events to be eligible for renewal. After you've completed 3 events together, sons are welcome to volunteer under another mother's supervision or on their own.
  9. Follow, prioritize us on Facebook (facebook.com/saso.ct) and Instagram!
  10. Answers to many questions can be found in our FAQs.

Looking for details of a completed event to record your son's participation? You can find information a few ways:
1. Save confirmation email you receive for future reference
2. Click on "View My Events" or "View Volunteer Hours" on app
3. On the homepage, click on "My Emails" to see event emails from SASO.

Thank you for your support of SASO and we look forward to volunteering together!
