While SASO is an event-driven organization, some outside organizations use an hours-based approach (such as National Honor Society) to track volunteer activity. Therefore, it's important that members accurately record their volunteer hours.

The honor system should be used to determine hours for open-ended events. The time frames below represent the average time each activity will likely take and ensures that hours are recorded consistently among members.

Volunteer hours for in-person events should be recorded based on the event length.
